Step 2
Stop eating processed foods
It is important
to stop eating processed foods at home. You are going to get plenty of
bread, rice and pasta when you eat out. So at home, no processed foods.
Try to eat Raisin Bran, Total or Oatmeal for breakfast. It takes your
body time to digest these grains, so your blood sugar level will be much
more stable. Try to eat a salad for lunch a few times a week. Keep the
dressing on the side, and dip your fork in the dressing. This way each
and every bite has flavor, but you are not overdoing it on the dressing.
Remember, when restaurants pile on the dressing the salad is as bad as
the double cheese burger for you. Keep it light. For dinner shoot for
some baked or grilled chicken or fish, with lightly steamed vegetables.
Do not count
calories or glycemic index. It is far too much work to sustain. Diets
are temporary partially because they are too much work. If you focus on
eating well and correctly, you will automatically start eating less. Have
you ever heard someone at a restaurant asking for another salad or steak?
If you pick the correct foods, your body is too busy processing them to
ask for more. And if you eat regularly you will find it much easier to
make a good decision.
Warning,
Please to not proceed to step three until you have consistently developed
the habits of eating healthy snacks and unprocessed meals. Step
